May 2009: Corporate Strategic Planning consultant at Confidential - Classified Industrial
The job is to lead strategic alignment effort between the corporate, department, unit level and (possibly) individual level for optimal results. A blend of balanced scorecards, business process management, activity based management, SWOT analysis, operational excellence, organizational efficiency etc.
2008: Alinma Bank iPMO Implementation Manager at HP/Atos-Origin (Middle-East)
This is a 6 months engagement at the Alinma PMO (Programme Management Office) comprised of 150 or so projects within horizontal (LOB) programmes to help the bank launch on target date. My responsibilities include implementation/deployment aspects as well as vendor relation management touching on requests, issues, risks, coordination and facilitation.

2003 - 2007: Senior Consultant (ExecTech Associate) at Executive Technologies
Freelance consultancy work under control and management of Executive Technologies for its own projects with focus on the banking industry. Projects in this area included; quick strategic assessments, data warehouse/business intelligence vendor/response selection, Scorecard for project initiation and evaluation, business and ICT assets valuation, information security. Most work was conducted for top banks in Jordan.
2002 - 2003: ICT Director at ProAsset Arabia
Interesting position at an emerging startup in Saudi Arabia focusing on leading-edge technologies associated with communications networking, information security, smart cards, biometrics, business continuity and in specialized niche IT solutions. Company profile includes such companies as Legato and BELLid.
1999 - 2003 : Management Board Member at ComNet Spectrum (JTG)
A 10% investor in ComNet Spectrum (Joint Venture with Jordan Technology Group JTG) as an entry point and exploration of the high-tech (IT) start-up market in Jordan and neighboring countries participated in management board meetings when in Jordan ( I was in and out between Jordan and Saudi Arabia) during this period.
2000 - 2002 (2 years) : Saudi Aramco Account Manager at Computer Associates - Middle East
Under special agreement between Computer Associates (middle-east) and Tameema Technology services. I was appointed Saudi Aramco account manager amid the transition from mainframe legacy systems to UNix/Windows based distributed computing, leading to new business on the new platforms and relocation/replacement of IBM mainframe based CA products.
2000 - 2001: Corporate Accounts Manager at Tameema Technology Services
As Corporate accounts Manager, I was mainly in charge of the large size accounts in Saudi Arabia including Saudi Aramco, Sceco, KFUPM, the petrochemical accounts in Jubail, banking/Government accounts in Riyadh and Jeddah. Worked on Forrester Research TechRanking as well as on other niche solution vendors such as Fortel, BiolinkUSA and others.
1998 - 2000: Middle-East Operations Manager at Conquest Data Corporation (CDC)
CDC built a reputation in AS/400 software transformations associated with Y2K and Euro conversions. Out of its keen interest to pursue Y2K opportunities in the middle-east, I was appointed in that position to pursue these opportunities specially in Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
1998 - 1999: IT service centers manager at Housing Bank for Trade and Finance
Responsible for everything in the ICT/IS infrastructure below the applications layer at HBTF, 5 units, 5 unit heads and 57 professionals reporting in areas of operations, operations support, technical support, systems programming, communications and networking. Same period of Y2K and Corporate intranet initiatives at HBTF.
1996 - 1998: Country-level Y2K Program manager at SBM
A short but very dense and dynamic period of activity to support IBM/SBM initiatives to deal with the Y2K challenge within IBM HW/SW products installed and in operation throughout the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including IBM Mainframe (S/370) large systems, IBM AS/400 and RS/6000 intermediate systems, and PC/PS2 based small systems, networking products and others.
1989 - 1995: Advisory System Engineer at Saudi Business Machines
Primary role in supporting Saudi Aramco network/communications/network management projects and initiatives based on IBM products and services in the period 1991-1996. This included IBM's SNA networking, multi-protocol networking, LAN/WAN integration and interconnectivity, high-speed LAN/WAN corporate network both inside and outside Saudi Arabia. A special milestone in this period was the 3-months secondment from SBM to Saudi Aramco in 1994 and the implementation of robust, fault tolerant and workload sharing LAN/WAN gateways based on IBM's 3172-003 product, and in association with IBM LaGaude, France.
1983 - 1989: Program Support Representative at Saudi Business Machines
IBM regional/domestic software support center activities for IBM HW/SW products installation and defect/non-defect technical support. Field support activities for customers under warranty/maintenance agreement coverage mostly in the eastern province. Mostly at Saudi Aramco Dhahran area working with CCOS, ECC technical staff on numerous installations, migrations and upgrades and general support activities.
1981 - 1983: Field (HW support) engineer at Saudi Business Machines
IBM S/370 system and peripherals technical support including installations, maintenance (defects and failures), upgrades and so on so forth, for Saudi Aramco CCOS and ECC.
1980 - 1981: Computer Engineer at Lands & Survey Department
One year contract for a UNDP funded project to automate the production of Lands & survey cadaestral drawings. Technically, this work was done on a PDP-11/04 single user system along with Aristo plotter and digitizer and Aristo's special application package.
1979 - 1980: Control Engineer at Aqaba Port
5 months of work at Aqaba port as control engineer in the phosphate terminal was enough to run away from the dust, heat and life hardship. Technically; the control system was focused on electro-mechanical/electronic control of conveyor belts, scraper-reclaimers in the phosphate silos, and the loading of the ships in the port.
